Witches and Warlocks are bound by what's known as the
threefold law. The law basically states that whatever you
do, whatever energies you “put out,” return to you
threefold (three times over) in this lifetime or the next.
The threefold law translates as What goes around comes
around, not just once but three times.
Witches believe you create your own destiny with your
thoughts, words, and deeds. Because they subscribe to
this idea, Witches tend to be more conscious and
conscientious in their behavior and thinking than many
other individuals are. Although the idea of reincarnation
cannot be validated, many witches and warlocks
seriously consider the karmic implications of their
actions or inactions.

THE GREATEST MAGICK.
THOTH, EGYPTIAN MOON GOD
God of wisdom and magic; scribe of gods; ibis-headed. The god of the moon and of wisdom and learning, whose sacred bird was the ibis. He is represented with the head and neck of an ibis and carries a pen, tablet, and palm branch. Great god of wisdom, magic, music, medicine, astronomy, geometry, surveying, drawing and writing.
Thoth's name means 'he of Djehut', which was a province in Lower Egypt. He was depicted as an ibis-headed man or as an ibis- or dog- headed ape; and on his head he wore the combinned lunar disc and crescent. His priests claimed that he was the true universal God who created everything by sound. Thoth, despite all attempts to find him parents in the mainstream of the gods, remains outside the Osirian family. His achievements are great. He helped to revive the dismembered Osiris, he defended Horus and cured him from scorpion poison, he adjudicated in the dispute and afterwards cured the wounds which gods Horus and Set had inflicted on each other.
He invented all the arts and sciences. His followers said that Thoth had a certain book which contained all magic and all knowledge. He had locked them up in a crypt, and his priest claimed that they alone had access to them. Not without reason was Thoth called 'Thrice Greatest'. After spending a busy time on earth Thoth became overseer of the moon. He was responsible for measuring time (the first month of the year was named
after him); he was in charge of all calculations, archives,
inventories of treasure and loot. He was historian, scribe,
herald and devine judge.
Thoth can be depicted as the ibis or baboon appear in nature or, in case of the ibis, with the bird's head super imposed on his shoulders. In each instance the god wears a crown representing the crescent moon supporting the full moon disk. Both his sacred creatures can be interpreted in terms of lunar symbolism. Thoth as moon-god could manifest himself as the sacred ibis whose long curved beak hints at the crescent new moon and whose black and white feathering can be seen as lndicating the waxing and waning of the moon.
The moon and the sun were initially thought of as the left
and right eyes of Horus. According to legend, Horus' left
eye (the moon) was injured in a fight with Set and was
restored by Thoth ("the eye of Horus"). However, as time
progressed the moon came to be associated with Thoth.
Although Osiris and Isis were generally credited with
bringing civilisation to mankind, Thoth was also thought
to have invented writing, medicine, magic, and the
Egyptian´s civil and religious practices.
He was even credited with the invention of music Thoth was the
patron of scribes and of the written word. He was scribe of the underworld who recorded the verdict on the deceased in the hall of Ma´at and was given the epithets "He who Balances", "God of the Equilibrium" and "Master of the Balance". Thoth maintained the library of the gods with the help of his wife, Seshat (the goddess of writing). He was the scribe of the gods, and was often
described as the "Lord of the Divine Body", "Scribe of the Company of the Gods", the "voice of Ra" or the"counsellor of Ra" who (along with Ma'at) stood on the sun barge next to Ra on his nightly voyage across the sky.
It was also thought that Ra gave Thoth and area of the underworld to rule in the "Land of the Caves", He kept a register of those in his realm and decreed just punishments for their transgressions and acted as Ra´s representative in the afterlife.
It was said that he was the author of the spells in the
"Book of the Dead" and "Book of Breathings" (which was
also attributed to Isis) and he was given the grand title,
the "Author of Every Work on Every Branch of Knowledge, Both Human and Divine". Egyptian mythology speaks of the "Book of Thoth" in which the god inscribed all of the secrets of the universe.
Anyone who read it would become the most powerful sorcerer in
the world, but would be cursed by their knowledge. Needless to say, people have been searching for this text despite the warning, and some more "colourful" theories propose that it is hidden in a secret chamber in or near the Great Pyramid. This book is said by some to be the "emerald tablets of Thoth" a work of dubious authenticity which suggests that Thoth and the other gods were from Atlantis.
Thoth was a great magician who knew "all that is hidden
under the heavenly vault". He used his knowledge to help
Tsis after the murder of her husband Osiris by his brother Set. With the help of Anubis he created the first mummification ritual and helped resurrect Osiris (albeit in the land of the Dead). He also protected Isis´s son Horus by driving a magical poison from his body when he was very young and supported him in his fight to gain the throne which was rightfully his.
Many of the Egyptians religious and civil rituals were organised according to a lunar calendar. As Thoth was associated with writing and with the moon it is perhaps unsurprising that he was also linked to the creation of the calendar. As his association with the moon waned, he developed into a god of wisdom, magic and the measurement of time. Similarly he was considered to
measure and record time. He was known by the epithets; "the One who Made Calculations Concerning the Heavens, the Stars and the Earth", "the Reckoner of Time and of Seasons" and "the one who Measured out the Heavens and Planned the Earth".
Thoth was thought to be the inventor of the 365-day calendar (which replaced the inaccurate 360 day calendar). According to myth, he earned the extra days by gambling with the moon (Iabet
or Khonsu) in a game of dice to help the goddess Nut. She was pregnant by her brother / husband Geb but Ra forbade her to give birth on any day of the Egyptian calendar. Thoth won a portion of light from the moon (1/72) which equated to five new days, and Nut gave birth to her five children on those days (Osiris, Horus the Elder, Set, Isis and Nephthys).
He was also known as a good counsellor and persuasive
speaker. In one version of an ancient myth Thoth and
Shu were sent by Ra to persuade the "eye of Ra" (in this
version usually in the form of Tefnut) to come home
when she left Egypt for Nubia. According to the myth, all
of the precious water left Egypt with her causing the land
to become parched and dry. Meanwhile she was rampaging around Nubia killing animals and humans and drinking their blood. Thoth and Shu disguised themselves as baboons (an animal sacred to Thoth) and began their search for the wayward goddess.
However, when they found her she refused to come home because she was perfectly happy where she was. Thoth told her
that Egypt missed her terribly and that the whole land
was suffering in her absence and he promised her great
processions and celebrations if she would come home.
Eventually she agreed, won round by his extravagant tales and the three returned to Egypt accompanied by Nubian musicians, dancers and baboons. They travelled up the Nile from city to city, bringing back the water, and there was much rejoicing.
He often holds a scribe's palette and stylus but could
also be depicted with an ankh (representing life) and a
sceptre (representing power). Thoth sometimes wore a
crescent moon on his head, but was also depicted
wearing the Atef crown, and the double crown of Upper
and Lower Egypt. When he was acting as the "voice of
Ra", he carried the "Eye of Ra" (a symbol of the power of
One day Thoth was idly resting in his chair placed at the
banks of the Nile. At this time Thoth was nothing more
than a regular young man who was somewhat lazy and
undeciplied. He had no ambition, no strong ethics, and
no powers. He was an unknown man in a world of unknowns.
He certainly had no dinars, and no prospects of getting his hands on any riches. As a matter of fact, he was an abject failure in the eyes of his family and friends.
As he lay back in his chair his mind drifiting away to a dream like state, he squinted against the Sun God Ra's brigth light. Looking closer he saw that the bright glint was coming from the sand and not from the sky. He spotted a huge bright shining disk in
the sands. Digging it out and setting his eyes on the full disk he discovered that inscribed on it were eight words
LOVE HOPE PEACE
A great feeling of complete power overcame Thoth. His
hands holding the disk began to tremble and his face
was hit with the shiney light eminating from the disk, his
mind exploded with the wisdom of his find. He examined the
eight words he saw on the disk and as he studied each word, he could feel the power striking his brain. Suddenly he just knew he was a changed man. Looking up into the rays from Ra, he felt himself being transported up and across the sky.
Standing before the great Sun God, Ra, himself, Thoth knelt down and as Ra touched his face with light, Thoth , the God of
the moon and magick was born.
The disk was thrown by Ra across the sky, where in the
wake of the fires of Ra, it split into eight rings. A great
lightning bolt shot fire into a sun ray and each word was
carved on one ring each. Ra, spoke with a thundering
voice to Thoth.
"Behold, Thoth, the eight rings of power are now yours.
From this day forward, you shall be known as Thoth,
Moon God, Thoth, God of magick, Thoth, God of
Wisdom and Courage, Thoth, God of Freedom and
Peace, Thoth, God of Luck and Hope, Thoth, God of Love
You shall be all powerful and the scribe of learning and knowledge. You shall live your life among the powers of
the eight words for mankind. From this day forward you
shall be one with the Gods Behold your place in the Egyptian world and ye shall receive my blessing. Forever ye shall take your place among the Gods and be remembered for the goodness in
you. I have spoken,
SO MOTE IT BE."
Thoth was transformed into a God,and unto him he made
his place in destiny with the eight words given to him by
Ra, The all powerful Sun God. Thoth goes down in history
as a compelling intellilectual, a God with qualities beyond the Egyptian's normal beliefs.
LOVE: The most spectacular,indescribable, deep
euphoric feeling for someone. Love is an incredibly
powerful word .The love of God for his children, the love
between a man and wife, a mother and child, father and
child, brother and sister, neighbor and neighbor, all love

is inherently free. It cannot be bought, sold, or traded. At
least not real love.
HOPE; The emotional state, the opposite of which is
despair, which promotes the belief in a positive outcome

COURAGE; Courage is the quality of mind or spirit that
enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc.,

win, and trying when you know you can lose . " Twenty
years from now you will be more disappointed by the
things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So
throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. "
LUCK; Luck is good fortune which occurs beyond
one's control, without regard to one's will, intention, or
desired result. The force that seems to operate for good

either way, good or bad, it is your belief and your attitude
that makes the difference.
WISDOM; The ability to discern or judge what is true,
right, or lasting. Common sense; good judgment: "It is a
characteristic of wisdom not to do desperate things" The
accumulated philosophic or scientific learning meaning
knowledge. The ability to discern inner qualities and
relationships meaning insight. And good sense
meaning judgment . There are two kinds of wisdom,
book learning and common sense. Book learning is
nothing without common sense. Common sense is still
wisdom even without book learning.
These are the eight important words. There are perhaps
others that mean just as much, for instance, truth and
honest could have or should have been included but
those are really traits of a human and not part of the
SO MOTE IT BE
